Introduction
Salutations!
My name is Jennifer Nelson and I am a student teacher currently doing the Education program at UOIT. My background is in Physics so I am looking forward to examining everything from the Doppler Effect to Lenz's Law.
The purpose of this website is to provide engagement with Math and Science. Engagement ignites passion, kindles curiosity and lights a life-long love of learning, In particular, since there are a lot of misconceptions, knowledge gaps and disconnects in relational thinking in these two subjects, this website includes the missing “tools” students should but may not have at the secondary level. This could include everything from dividing fractions to what a force is and is not.
In addition, this website includes study tips and stress management strategies. Anxiety and stress as it’s the biggest mental health issue among teens will be a feature of the website. Just like with academic skills, emotional skills can be taught: students just need the tools.
Don't forget to check out the fun sections such as Phun Physics and Challenge Accepted for a laugh or a riddle!
Regards,
Ms. Nelson
